Warhammer The Old World: Grand Cathay Sky Lantern

Sky Lanterns are marvels of Cathayan innovation, used by the armies of the Celestial Dragon to survey the battlefield from above and coordinate their forces. Suspended below each lantern is an armoured gondola, where a Magistrate issues commands using fans and banners to guide troops or direct artillery strikes. If enemy flyers or ranged units approach, pairs of Crane Gunners take advantage of their elevated position to pick them off with precision.

This multipart plastic kit builds one impressive Sky Lantern, a unique flying war engine for your Grand Cathay army in Warhammer: The Old World. These airborne platforms can serve various roles on the battlefield—ranging from high-altitude artillery to bomb-dropping support. The kit includes parts to build a Magistrate, who can either ride in the gondola or be assembled separately on foot.

The crew can be equipped with Crane Guns, iron hail guns, and a selection of gunpowder or dragon fire bombs. You can also add an optional bomb rack to the gondola for additional firepower. No matter how you choose to assemble it, the Sky Lantern is both a tactical asset and a striking centrepiece for your collection.

The kit contains 128 plastic components, along with:

This model requires assembly and is supplied unpainted. For best results, we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints.
