Warhammer The Old World: Grand Cathay Battalion

Grand Cathay is one of the most ancient and enduring civilizations in the World of Legend, rivalling the might and legacy of the Elves and Dwarfs. It is a land of balance and stability, having remained largely unchanged for millennia—a steadfast empire that defends against the darkness threatening the world.

This boxed set provides a strong foundation for building an Armies of Grand Cathay force in *Warhammer: The Old World*. Leading the charge are elite Jade Lancers—heavily armoured cavalry designed to break enemy lines. Supporting them are disciplined ranks of Jade Warriors, ready to hold ground or advance. Artillery units offer long-range firepower, softening the enemy from a distance.

Inside the box, you’ll find 50 multipart plastic miniatures:

• 2x Cathayan Grand Cannons (which can also be built as Fire Rain Rocket Batteries)
  
• 10x Jade Lancers
  
• 30x Jade Warriors

The miniatures are highly customisable. Jade Lancers can be assembled as one large unit or two smaller units of five, each with optional command elements like a champion, standard bearer, and musician.

Jade Warriors offer even more flexibility—they can be formed into one large unit, two medium units of 15, or three smaller units of 10. Each group can include a champion, standard bearer, and musician. You can choose to arm them with hand weapons and shields or halberds, and their heads, topknots, and decorative elements are interchangeable.

The artillery can be assembled as either Cathayan Grand Cannons or Fire Rain Rocket Batteries. Each weapon includes three crew members and an optional ogre loader.

This box is a great way to begin a Grand Cathay army or grow your existing force, offering better value than buying the kits separately.

The set contains 734 plastic parts, along with a variety of Citadel bases:

Also included is a Jade Warriors/Lancers Transfer Sheet with 404 detailed waterslide decals to customise your models.

These miniatures come unpainted and require assembly. For best results, use Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints.
